Bio - Roger Doak

I was born in upstate New York but moved to Colorado as a young boy. Living in the scenic beauty of the Gunnison Valley proved to be the impetus for my interest in photography and the challenge of learning to capture it all on film. For years I practiced, read, practiced, took classes, and practiced some more. In 2003 I entered some of my art work in a few photo shows and competitions. In my first show I received a third place finish. I continued to improve my photographic skills; fine tuning my technique but more importantly adjusting my photographic eye. My most recent awards were two first place finishes as judged by John Fielder at a garden show in Denver. This recognition and encouragement from friends and family inspired me to start my business, Roger Doak Photography.
